Welcome to the West Bend Judo Club. Judo is a martial art most closely resembling Olympic wrestling. Under the direction of Jon Sanfilippo, the club prides itself on a long history of excellence in competition, discipline, and the understanding of technique. Our club is a sanctioned club and operates under the United States Judo Association (USJA). It's members are also affiliated with USA Judo (USJI), the United States Judo Federation (USJF), the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), and United States Martial Arts Association (USMAA).

Judo originates in Japan and means the gentle way. It was started by Jigaro Kano in 1882, and based from a martial art called jujitsu. Judo is known for its standing elements but also its ground techniques. When a student is taught judo, they learn about discipline, efficiency, and respect for one another. It is taught as an art, recreation, physical fitness, self defense, and fun. Judo is a martial art that involves grappling techniques, mat holds, chokes, and arm locks.
